Chaker Aoun
President of Garden Foods

Chaker Aoun is the founder and president of Garden Foods, one of the largest wholesale beverage distributorships in Michigan.  Garden Foods was founded in 1989, and under his decisive leadership and business savviness, Mr. Aoun was able to build the company into a successful wholesaler. 

Born in Bint Jebail, Lebanon, Mr. Aoun came to the United States in 1976.  He started his first business venture in Chicago shortly after, and then in 1989 moved to Dearborn, Michigan, where he established Garden Foods.  In 2003 Mr. Aoun established Chase Cash & Carry, Inc, a wholesaler and distributor that services the metropolitan area.  Shortly after establishing the venture, it became the largest distributor of supplies to service stations and retail outlets in Metro Detroit. 

Mr. Aoun owns a juice brand that is distributed and sold throughout the Midwest.  He markets the Old Town Beverages products through his international marketing company, State Street Beverages.  The product is highly visible in the Midwest region.

In addition to his marketing and sales concepts and strategies, he is the owner of several retail operations throughout Michigan.

Most recently, in December 2006, Mr. Aoun will announce the grand opening of his new business, a bottling company called Michigan Bottling & Custom Pack.  Production lines will begin in December of 2006.  This new business venture will consolidate all of his production into one plant, moving his operations from Milwaukee and Chicago to Michigan.  Mr. Aoun’s successful ventures and operations have impacted countless families throughout the community, as he provides much-needed jobs to the region.   

An active member of the community, he served on the board of the American Arab Chamber of Commerce for five years and was one of the leading visionaries behind the formation of the Chamber's Small Business Committee.

Mr. Aoun is known throughout Metro Detroit as a philanthropist and consistent supporter of community endeavors and has received extensive recognition for his community service.  He continues to play an active role in many community organizations.
