The AACC collects and shares aggregated information about our members and Web site visitors with our partners and advertisers.  This information does not identify individuals, and is used to provide our partners and advertisers with information about the volume and activities of visitors to our Web site.

Online Transactions
The AACC will collect credit card information from visitors choosing to register for an event or purchase a product from the AACC Web site.  All transactions are processed through our secure online payment system.  The AACC uses an outside credit card processing company to collect payment for online transactions made on our Web site. This company does not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any other purpose.  The AACC will use your credit card information for billing purposes only and to fill your orders.  If we have trouble processing an order, we will use the contact information you provided to contact you.

Security
All personal information described above is stored on restricted database servers.  When you enter sensitive information (such as a credit card number) on our registration or order forms, we encrypt that information using secure socket layer technology (SSL).

Email this Page to a Friend
The AACC allows you to email pages of our Web site to a friend.  If you choose to use our Email this Page to a Friend feature, we will ask you for your friend’s name and email address.  The AACC will automatically send your friend a one-time email inviting him or her to visit our Web site.  The AACC stores this information for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email and for tracking the success this referral feature.

The AACC makes use of browser “cookies.”  Cookies are small text files placed on your computer's hard disk by our server. They allow us to quickly check your status as a member or subscriber to better serve you on our Web site.  The AACC will never use cookies to retrieve information from a computer that is unrelated to our site or services.  If you wish to disable these cookies, the help portion of the tool bar on most browsers will tell you how do that. If you set your browser to disable cookies, however, you may not be able to access certain aspects of the AACC Web site.

The AACC may also use log files including but not limited to internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp and clickstream data.  Log files are used to administer the site, track users’ movements around the site and analyze trends about the usage of our Web site.  Log files do not identify individual users.

The AACC may also use embedded images in emails to track the open rates for our mailings, so that we can tell which mailings appeal most to AACC members and subscribers.
